Cornus alternatifolia
A large shrub that can be grown in a tree form up to 25' tall. Its wide spreading branches that are arranged in tiers earned it the nickname Pagoda Dogwood, but it is also known as alternate-leaved dogwood. A great ornamental or wildlife shrub-- it produces clusters of fragrant flowers in late spring that mature in early fall to into dark blue, berry-like fruits. It is highly beneficial to a wide range of invertebrates, birds, and mammals.
