A classic yellow and often russetted heirloom apple variety. Its flavor is somewhat tart and develops with storage. Reported to be Benjamin Franklin's favorite apple. It was originally a dessert apple but is now more popular for cider production. Requires another variety for pollination.
Freedom, Enterprise, and Liberty can all serve as pollinators.
Sold as 5/8" diameter bareroot trees on EMLA-111 rootstock (semi-standard, 85-100% of a standard apple).
